Renewi was created in 2017, following the merger of Shanks Group plc with Van Gansewinkel Groep
BV and is the leading waste to product company that is ideally positioned to solve the most important
environmental issues: The reduction of waste in general, avoiding of environmental pollution and
preventing unnecessary usage of (scarce) raw materials.

For us, waste is a state of mind, and an opportunity. We use innovation and the latest technology to
turn waste into useful materials such as paper, metal, plastic, glass, wood, building materials, compost
and energy. In other words, we turn today’s waste into tomorrow’s raw materials.

Renewi is continuously looking for new and innovative solutions and collaborations tot process,
recycle and upcycle waste into (new) raw materials. The collaboration with Purified Metal Company fits
perfectly. As partner of PMC, Renewi exclusively provides the logistics part of the circular solution; the collection and transport of the contaminated steel and delivers it to PMC.

Jansen Recycling Group is one of the biggest recyclers of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap in the Benelux region. From its two yards in Dordrecht and Vlaardingen, a team of 70 enthusiastic employees work hard on the vision: “Working on a world as it is meant to be.” This means we seek to have a positive impact on people and the environment. Our core business of retaining precious raw materials within the circular economy is central to this aim. Annually we recycle more than 500,000 tons of ferrous and non-ferrous material, sourced from metal processing plants, dismantling and decommissioning projects, and metal traders. This scrap is sorted and then processed before being supplied as a secondary raw material to steel mills and smelting companies worldwide. Jansen Recycling Group has been closely involved from the very beginning, as both shareholder and investor. With the introduction of its new plant, PMC offers a solution for contaminated steel scrap, a problem we are familiar with as recyclers.
