Renewi was created in 2017, following the merger of Shanks Group plc with Van Gansewinkel Groep
BV and is the leading waste to product company that is ideally positioned to solve the most important
environmental issues: The reduction of waste in general, avoiding of environmental pollution and
preventing unnecessary usage of (scarce) raw materials.

Renewi is listed on the London Stock Exchange and part of the FTSE250 Index. With more than 8,000
employees working in Europe and North America, we have the knowledge to offer a wide variety of
sustainable and practical waste management and recycle solution products and services.

For us, waste is a state of mind, and an opportunity. We use innovation and the latest technology to
turn waste into useful materials such as paper, metal, plastic, glass, wood, building materials, compost
and energy. In other words, we turn today’s waste into tomorrow’s raw materials.

Renewi is continuously looking for new and innovative solutions and collaborations tot process,
recycle and upcycle waste into (new) raw materials. The collaboration with Purified Metal Company fits
perfectly. As partner of PMC, Renewi exclusively provides the logistics part of the circular solution; the collection and transport of the contaminated steel and delivers it to PMC.

Groningen Seaports is the economic operator, developer and authority for the port of Delfzijl, Eemshaven and the adjoining industrial sites. The organisation provides the complete package of port services to its industrial and commercial clients, from logistics and infrastructure services to the issue and maintenance of the sites in both port regions. As well as the two excellently equipped ports, Groningen Seaports manages the industrial sites around the ports and at other areas in the Eemsdelta.

Various clustered business sites are located on the sites, including a chlorine-related chemicals cluster with Nouryon (former AkzoNobel) and its alliance partners as important players. Also, a large part of Eemshaven has been earmarked for the development of energy-related industry with large energy producers such as ENGIE, NorNed, Vattenfall, TenneT, and RWE/Essent. And that attracts energy consumers as well: Google extends its largest data center of Europe in Eemshaven.

Via good rail, road and water connections both seaports are very easy accessible and with more than 700 hectares of land available there is certainly plenty of space for you to get down to business.
If you operate in the offshore wind business or the data centre sector, then Eemshaven is the best option for you. Delfzijl is the right location for the chemical industry or circular economic activities. Curious about what Eemshaven or the port of Delfzijl have to offer you? Are you looking for a place to establish your company? Or considering a relocation? Would you like to make use of a jetty or a wharf? If so, be sure to contact us and let us know your requirements. We’ll be pleased to help you explore the options.

Jansen Recycling Group

Jansen Recycling Group is one of the biggest recyclers of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap in the Benelux region. From its two yards in Dordrecht and Vlaardingen, a team of 70 enthusiastic employees work hard on the vision: “Working on a world as it is meant to be.” This means we seek to have a positive impact on people and the environment. Our core business of retaining precious raw materials within the circular economy is central to this aim. Annually we recycle more than 500,000 tons of ferrous and non-ferrous material, sourced from metal processing plants, dismantling and decommissioning projects, and metal traders. This scrap is sorted and then processed before being supplied as a secondary raw material to steel mills and smelting companies worldwide. Jansen Recycling Group has been closely involved from the very beginning, as both shareholder and investor. With the introduction of its new plant, PMC offers a solution for contaminated steel scrap, a problem we are familiar with as recyclers. PMC’s concept fits seamlessly with our ambition to provide innovative and enduring solutions.
